Over the 6th and 7th of February 2021, 12 students represented Island School at HKISMUN 2021 under the theme of “On the Brink”. After over 10 hours of speeches, POIs and amendments, all students left their Zoom calls with an experience both to remember and to learn from. The issues students debated on ranged from establishing a framework for disarmament in the South China Sea to more complex problems such as the ongoing situation in Libya. Through the many debates, students developed their critical skills such as collaboration and problem solving which will be beneficial to them as they grow to be a global citizen.
